Collector relevance and Mega Evolution in the XY series

M Gardevoir-EX 79/114 is a prominent representative of the Mega Evolution era in the Pokémon TCG's XY series. Mega Evolution cards introduced new strategic options, allowing players to evolve their Pokémon-EX into even stronger forms — balanced by the rule that the turn ends when you Mega Evolve. The card's Despair Ray attack is especially interesting, as it lets you adjust damage dynamically by discarding your own Benched Pokémon, opening up creative deck strategies and tactical choices in play.

As an Ultra Rare Pokémon card with a Rare Holo EX finish and a clear Steam Siege identity, this card is sought after by collectors focusing on Mega Evolution, the Gardevoir family, or the XY era. It is also relevant to players looking to experiment with discard-based attacks and to exploit the Mega Evolution mechanic in the Expanded format.
