Disney Lorcana The First Chapter (Set 1)

What is Disney Lorcana The First Chapter?

Disney Lorcana The First Chapter marks the beginning of Ravensburger’s ambitious TCG collectible universe, where classic Disney characters and magical mechanics meet in an entirely new card game. The set launched in August 2023 and immediately made an impact with collectors and players alike thanks to its unique blend of iconic artwork, innovative gameplay systems, and strong collector appeal. If you want to explore the entire Lorcana series, you can find a wide selection under Disney Lorcana.

Different product types in The First Chapter

At the core of Disney Lorcana The First Chapter are the classic booster packs and booster displays. A booster pack contains 12 random cards, distributed as 6 common, 3 uncommon, 2 rare/super rare/legendary, and 1 foil (of any rarity). Booster displays typically gather 24 booster packs in one box and are ideal if you want to open larger quantities at once—either to build decks or chase the most sought-after chase cards.

Especially for collectors, the hunt for Enchanted cards is notable; these are ultra-rare, characterized by full-art designs and exclusive holofoil effects. These cards replace the foil in certain booster packs and are among the most sought-after in the entire Lorcana universe. For players, it’s worth noting that every card—regardless of rarity—can be used in deckbuilding, which makes every opening exciting.

How to choose the right Lorcana product

The choice between booster packs and booster displays depends on whether you primarily collect or play. Booster packs are perfect if you want to open individual packs at a time, trade with friends, or simply enjoy the thrill of random pulls. Booster displays suit those who want to increase their chances of finding rare cards like Mickey Mouse – Brave Little Tailor or Ariel – Spectacular Singer foil, or who want to build multiple decks from scratch.

Also consider how you’ll store and protect your Lorcana cards. Many choose to complement their collection with sleeves, binders, and other accessories to ensure both collector value and condition are preserved. Whether you’re new to Lorcana or an experienced TCG collector, it’s important to think about which card types and formats best suit your collecting or playing profile.

Differences between The First Chapter and other Lorcana sets

The First Chapter differs from later Lorcana sets by serving as the foundation for the entire game universe. This is where the core Lorcana Ink mechanics were introduced, and many of the most iconic chase cards come from this set. The set consists of 204 base cards, all eligible for foil variants, plus 12 unique Enchanted cards found only in The First Chapter. There is no First Edition printing, but the holofoil effects and character-based abilities make the set special for both collectors and players.

Later sets build on the mechanics and characters introduced here, but The First Chapter will always hold a special status as the original Lorcana set—both historically and for collectors.

Why The First Chapter is popular with collectors and players

Disney Lorcana The First Chapter is popular because it combines nostalgic Disney characters with modern TCG gameplay and collectible excitement. The set offers a wide range of cards that can be used to build powerful decks and to complete collections with rare foils and Enchanted variants. For many collectors, chasing cards like Lorcana chase cards set 1 and the iconic Enchanted cards is an experience in itself, while players appreciate the solid deckbuilding options and balanced mechanics.

Whether you collect Disney Lorcana The First Chapter for the artwork, to play with friends, or to trade for favorite cards, there are plenty of ways to dive into both the collecting and playing aspects. The set remains a milestone in the Lorcana universe—and a must for any dedicated TCG enthusiast.
