Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn (Set 2)

What is Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn?

Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn is the second official set in the Lorcana TCG series and marks a significant expansion of the popular card game. The set builds on the world from The First Chapter and introduces new characters, mechanics and collecting experiences. Whether you are a dedicated collector or a Lorcana player, Rise of the Floodborn is a cornerstone of your collection and a natural choice for anyone wanting to explore more aspects of the Disney Lorcana universe.

Overview of products in Set 2

Rise of the Floodborn offers several product formats that cater to different needs and entry points into the Lorcana card game. Here you will find, among other things, booster packs, booster displays, starter decks and special products like Illumineer's Trove.

A booster pack contains 12 cards, where you can find everything from commons to rares and foil cards. For collectors who want to open many packs and chase the most sought-after cards, a booster display (24 booster packs) is an obvious choice — it gives volume and a better chance to hit chase cards. Starter decks are preconstructed 60-card sets that include two exclusive foil cards, tokens and a booster pack, making them ideal for both beginners and players wanting to try new strategies. If you want an all-in-one solution with extra accessories, Illumineer's Trove is a popular choice among dedicated collectors.

Differences between Rise of the Floodborn and previous Lorcana sets

Rise of the Floodborn stands out from earlier sets by introducing a full 216 new cards and expanding the universe with iconic Disney franchises such as Snow White, Pinocchio, Zootopia and The Jungle Book. The set features several new mechanics and deck-building options through the unique ink system, where color combinations like Amber/Sapphire and Amethyst/Steel open up new strategies.

Compared with Disney Lorcana’s first set, The First Chapter, Rise of the Floodborn offers greater variety in card types and illustrations. In particular, foil cards and alt-art variants have become highly sought after by collectors, and the set has helped cement Lorcana as a collectible with both play and display value.

How to choose the right Lorcana product

The choice between booster packs, displays and starter decks depends on whether you mainly collect, play, or both. Here are some key considerations:

Booster packs: Perfect if you want to open individual packs and chase specific cards or foil variants.

Booster displays: Ideal for collectors who want volume and a greater chance to complete the set or find chase cards.

Starter decks: The best option for beginners or players who want a ready-to-play deck.

For collectors aiming to build a complete collection or chase the rarest cards, it can pay off to combine multiple product formats. Remember that special products like Illumineer's Trove offer extra accessories and storage options, which can be an advantage for the dedicated Lorcana enthusiast.
