Collector and gameplay relevance

Karen XY177a has both collector and gameplay value. As a Supporter card its effect is: Each player's Pokémon in the discard pile are shuffled back into that player's deck. This mechanic can be decisive in games where reusing Pokémon from the discard pile is important, thereby strengthening the deck's resources.

For collectors the card has special appeal due to its connection to the XY era, its promo status, and the character Karen, who is known from the Elite Four in the Johto region. The Full Art edition makes XY177a especially interesting for those focusing on XY single cards and promo variants.
