Collector and historical value

Kabutops ex 97/100 is sought after by collectors of EX Series single cards and fans of fossil Pokémon. As a Rare Holo EX from EX Sandstorm, the card holds a special status among collectors due to its rarity and its role in Pokémon history. EX Sandstorm was the second main expansion in the EX Series and marked a shift toward powerful holofoil cards and the introduction of the Pokémon-ex rule, where the opponent takes two Prize cards if Kabutops ex is Knocked Out.

The card's attacks, Hydrocutter and Spiral Drain, define its profile: Hydrocutter deals 40× damage based on coin flips (up to three flips), while Spiral Drain deals 70 damage and also removes damage counters from Kabutops ex.

The card's place in the collection

EX Sandstorm consists of 100 cards and includes several iconic EX cards from the early 2000s. Kabutops ex 97/100 is an obvious choice for collectors looking to expand their collection of Pokémon single cards or seeking fossil Pokémon with historical significance. The card is also relevant for those interested in Vintage booster boxes and wanting to explore the development of the EX Series.
