Collector value and gameplay

Giratina-EX 57/98 is particularly relevant to collectors of the XY series, Ancient Origins and Dragon-type Pokémon. The card's Ability, Renegade Pulse, protects against all effects of attacks, including damage, from an opponent's Mega Evolution Pokémon. The attack Chaos Wheel deals 100 damage and prevents the opponent on their next turn from playing Pokémon Tool, Special Energy, or Stadium cards from their hand. This combination made the card attractive in the XY/Expanded formats and adds historical value for players interested in past metagames.

Distinction from other Giratina-EX versions

It is important to distinguish this card from Giratina-EX 93/98, which is the Full Art version from the same set. This product page concerns exclusively Giratina-EX 57/98 in regular print, illustrated by PLANETA.
