What's included in the Magic: Star Trek Prerelease?

All participants receive an official Magic: The Gathering – Star Trek Prerelease Pack, which is used to build a deck and take part in the tournament.

You build your own deck from the cards in the prerelease pack and play against other participants. Basic lands are provided by the store.

The event is for both new and experienced Magic players who want to experience the new expansion before its official release.

Experience the iconic Star Trek universe in Magic: The Gathering with this official Magic: The Gathering Star Trek Prerelease Pack (set code: TRK) from Wizards of the Coast. The prerelease pack is your ticket to explore the new Star Trek set, and it's tailored for both players and collectors who want to experience the Universes Beyond series' unique crossover between Magic and Star Trek.

Contents of the Magic: The Gathering Star Trek Prerelease Pack

• 6 Star Trek Play Boosters (each containing 14 randomly inserted Magic cards)
• 1 traditional foil rare or mythic rare (not a specific card)
• 1 Spindown™ life counter
• 1 deck box

All items are sealed directly from Wizards of the Coast, and the pack is in English. Note that the contents do not include prebuilt decks or single cards, and there is no guarantee for specific cards or chase cards.

How to use a Prerelease Pack

A prerelease pack is designed for the Sealed Deck format: you open the six Play Boosters, build a deck from the cards you draw, and participate in a prerelease event – typically the first opportunity to play with the new set. This format challenges both deckbuilding and gameplay understanding, and it's popular among both new and experienced Magic players.

Experience the Star Trek universe in Magic: The Gathering

The set brings characters, crews, starships, and factions from multiple Star Trek generations into Magic: The Gathering. You can expect iconic elements like the Federation, the Borg, and other familiar themes from the Star Trek universe, making the pack a collectible with special appeal for fans of both worlds.

If you want to explore more products from this crossover, you can see the full range under Magic: The Gathering or dive into recent releases via Magic 2025 - now.
