Deckbuilding and collecting potential

With the Foundations Starter Collection you get a fixed, broad selection of cards that cover all Magic colors and multiple strategies. Here you'll find both classic staples and iconic cards like Lyra Dawnbringer, Massacre Wurm, Gigantosaurus and Arcanis the Omnipotent. The set also includes essential deckbuilding cards, e.g. Negate, Opt, Disenchant, Unsummon and Feed the Swarm.

Three Commander-related cards – Sol Ring, Arcane Signet and Command Tower – are included with an FDC set code. These cards are only legal in formats where they are already allowed, and not in Standard. The set is therefore both a strong foundation for beginners and a valuable addition for experienced collectors, especially if you're interested in Commander decks.

Foil cards, Full-Art and Play Boosters

You get a total of 26 Traditional Foil cards, including foil versions of popular cards like Lyra Dawnbringer, Angel of Vitality and Negate. In addition, the set features six borderless cards and 10 Full-Art Basic Lands, which add extra visual value to your collection. The three Foundations Play Boosters offer the chance to open additional cards with the potential for Rare, Mythic Rare, foil or alternative artworks – an exciting supplement to the fixed contents.

Legality and use

All Foundations cards in this set are Standard-legal at least through 2029, making them relevant for both casual and tournament play. FDC Commander cards follow their own legality and can be used in the formats where they are already permitted. The product is officially released in English and is part of the Magic: The Gathering family.
