Magic: The Gathering - Foundations Play Booster Pack

Magic: The Gathering Foundations Play Booster Pack

Magic: The Gathering Foundations Play Booster Pack is an official, factory-sealed booster product from Wizards of the Coast, designed for both collectors and players. This booster belongs to the popular Foundations set (set code FDN), released on 15 November 2024 and Standard-legal until at least 2029. The Play Booster format is designed to support both collection and Limited formats such as Draft and Sealed, making the pack a versatile choice for any Magic enthusiast.

Contents of the Foundations Play Booster Pack

Each Magic: The Gathering Foundations Play Booster Pack contains a total of 14 Magic cards. The cards come from the FDN set, and there is also a chance to find Special Guests cards from the SPG series. The official card distribution in a Play Booster typically looks like this:

• 6–7 commons
• 3 uncommons
• 1 rare or mythic rare
• 1 non-foil wildcard
• 1 traditional foil card (can be any rarity)
• 1 land card
• 1 token, art card or advertisement card

Note that the exact distribution may vary, as wildcard and foil slots allow for additional variation in the contents. Specific cards or chase cards cannot be guaranteed in a single booster.

Special cards and variants

Foundations Play Boosters can contain both borderless Magic cards and the exclusive Special Guests cards. Special Guests appear in approximately 1.5% of packs and replace a common card, adding extra excitement for collectors and players alike. The pack is factory-sealed and shipped directly from the manufacturer.

Use in Magic: The Gathering Limited

The Play Booster format is suitable for Limited formats such as Draft and Sealed, where you build decks from the cards you open. The Foundations set offers both classic Magic elements and new cards, making this booster a strong starting point for both tournament play and collecting.
