Magic: The Gathering - Foundations Play Booster Display

Magic: The Gathering Foundations Play Booster Display

Magic: The Gathering Foundations Play Booster Display is the ideal entry point to the new Foundations set from Wizards of the Coast. This display is designed for both collectors and players who want a versatile product for Limited formats like Draft and Sealed, as well as for deckbuilding and expanding a Standard-legal collection. The Foundations set (set code FDN) combines new cards and classic reprints, making it a solid choice for both experienced and newer Magic enthusiasts.

Contents and card distribution in a Foundations Play Booster Display

A display contains 36 Play Boosters, each with 14 Magic cards plus a token, promo, or art card. The card distribution in each booster is designed to support both Limited play and collector value:

• 6–9 commons
• 3–5 uncommons
• 1–4 rares or mythic rares
• 1 land (character land, common dual land or basic land – 20% chance for a foil land)
• At least 1 traditional foil card per booster
• Wildcard slot that may upgrade to a higher rarity

The card pool covers the entire main set (FDN 1–361) as well as selected Special Guests cards (SPG 74–83). That means you can open both new designs and iconic reprints in the same display.

Unique card possibilities and rarities

Foundations Play Boosters give access to several attractive card types for collectors and players:

Borderless cards can appear in Play Boosters, and there is a traditional foil in every booster. Special Guests reprints can show up in about 1.5% of boosters, and a foil borderless mythic planeswalker is extremely rare (under 1% of boosters).

There are no guaranteed chase cards, but the chance to open everything from Standard-playable staples to rare alternate versions makes the display exciting for any collector.

Suited for Limited, collectors and deckbuilding

Magic: The Gathering Foundations Play Booster Display is built to perform well in Limited formats like Draft and Sealed, where the balance between card types and rarities ensures a great play experience. At the same time, you get access to a wide range of cards with familiar mechanics like flashback, kicker, landfall and more, making the set accessible and versatile for Standard, casual play and Commander.
