Pokémon TCG, Lucario Lv.41 (EX Sandstorm #12)

About Shiftry 12/100 from EX Sandstorm – Correct identification and collector relevance

This product is listed as a raw single card from Pokémon TCG’s EX Sandstorm set, released in 2003 by The Pokémon Company. It is important to emphasize that card no. 12/100 in EX Sandstorm is unequivocally Shiftry — not Lucario. For collectors of Pokémon single cards and vintage Pokémon TCG, correct identification is essential for both authenticity and collector enjoyment.

Significance of the EX Sandstorm set and Shiftry 12/100

EX Sandstorm marks an early and sought-after era in the Pokémon TCG, focusing on Generation III and the Pokémon of the Hoenn region. The set consists of 100 English cards and is known for its rare holo rares and the introduction of the Pokémon-ex mechanic. Shiftry 12/100 is a Rare Holo card, Stage 2, Grass-type with 120 HP, illustrated by Atsuko Nishida. Its unique artwork and mechanics — including the Poké-Power Fan Away and the attack Light Touch Throw — make it a key collectible for enthusiasts of Pokémon cards from the EX Series and the vintage period.

The importance of correct card identification

There is a documented identity conflict in the product data: Lucario does not appear in the EX Sandstorm set, and #12/100 belongs to Shiftry. To avoid mispurchases and ensure your collection’s authenticity, you should always check the following on the physical card:

• Pokémon name, card number (12/100) and set symbol
• HP (120), card type (Stage 2, Grass-type), illustrator (Atsuko Nishida) and release year (2003)
• Language — listed as English, but should be verified physically

If the card shows Shiftry 12/100, it is a vintage Rare Holo from EX Sandstorm. If it shows Lucario, its actual set and number must be identified separately.

Buying and verifying a raw single card

The product is sold as a raw single card (raw card), which means it is not sealed or professionally graded. Condition, variant and language cannot be verified from the available data, so physical inspection is recommended before purchase or trade. To protect your cards, it is recommended to use appropriate accessories such as sleeves and binders.

Note: The identity of this card cannot be conclusively determined from the product data. Always verify the card's physical details before making a purchase or trade.
