Pokémon TCG: Gloom Reverse Holo #78 PSA 8 - Expedition Base Set

Gloom Reverse Holo 78/165 PSA 8 – Expedition Base Set

For collectors of classic Pokémon cards, Gloom Reverse Holo 78/165 PSA 8 from the Expedition Base Set is a notable piece from the e-Card era. This single, graded card represents a unique combination of early 2000s Pokémon history, reverse holofoil technology, and documented collector quality.

Details about Gloom Reverse Holo #78/165

The card is an Uncommon Grass-type Pokémon with 70 HP, released in 2002 as part of the iconic Expedition Base Set — the first international expansion in the Pokémon e-Card Series. Gloom #78/165 features the attacks Razor Leaf and Foul Odor, and the reverse holo variant is clearly distinct from the regular edition thanks to its holo effect in the background and border. This item is a single, already graded collectible in a PSA holder — not a booster, sealed box, or deck.

PSA 8 grading and collector quality

The card is graded PSA 8, corresponding to “Near Mint–Mint” on PSA’s scale. This means the card shows minimal wear and only light signs of handling, making it attractive to collectors who want documented quality. Note that the PSA certification number is not provided in the available product data, and there is no information on centering or surface characteristics.

Reverse Holofoil in Expedition Base Set

The Expedition Base Set introduced a distinctive reverse holofoil finish, where the holo effect appears on the card’s background and border — not on the illustration itself. This visual detail makes reverse holo versions sought after by collectors, especially from Wizards of the Coast releases.
