To play Riftbound, you build a deck centered around your Champion Legend, the most important card in your deck. Your champion is supported by additional units, spells, and equipment that can turn the tide of battle.
Matches are won by controlling battlefields. Each player brings battlefields into the game, but control can shift during play. Capturing a battlefield scores points, and maintaining control scores additional points over time. The first player to reach the victory threshold wins. If an opponent already controls a battlefield, combat breaks out and unit strength determines who claims control.
All cards have a cost paid using runes, the game’s resource cards. Each round, players gain new runes that can be used temporarily for standard costs or consumed to activate especially powerful cards.
