Details about Mega Absol ex 180/132 – Special Illustration Rare

Mega Absol ex 180/132 is an English, holographic Pokémon TCG single card from the Mega Evolution expansion (set code ME01/MEG), released in 2025. The card is classified as a Special Illustration Rare (SIR) and is listed as a raw single card in Near Mint (NM) condition. This means the card is sold individually, is not sealed or graded, and no accessories such as sleeves or binders are included.

The illustration was created by the renowned Mitsuhiro Arita, making the card especially appealing to both collectors and players who appreciate unique artwork and official Pokémon artists.

Gameplay and strategy

Mega Absol ex 180/132 is a Basic Darkness-type Mega Evolution Pokémon ex with 280 HP. The card has two notable attacks that make it relevant in both offensive and tactical play:

• Terminal Period: If the opponent's Active Pokémon has exactly six damage counters, it is Knocked Out. This requires precise timing and can change the course of the game.
• Claw of Darkness: Deals 200 damage and forces the opponent to reveal their hand, after which you choose and discard one card from it. This can create disruption and give you a strategic advantage.

The card has a weakness to Grass (×2), no resistance, and a retreat cost of 2 Colorless Energy. As a Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, the official rule applies that the opponent takes three Prize cards if this card is Knocked Out.

Collector interest and rarity

As a Special Illustration Rare, Mega Absol ex 180/132 is among the most sought-after cards in the Mega Evolution set. SIR status means the card features a detailed and unique illustration that sets it apart from standard versions. Mitsuhiro Arita's artwork is known for its quality and aesthetics, increasing the card's appeal among dedicated collectors.

The listed condition, Near Mint (NM), indicates the card appears almost flawless without significant signs of wear. This is important for both collectors who want a pristine card for their binder and players who want quality in their deck.
